FKA twigs x Hiro Murai

sad day, directed by Hiro Murai + starring FKA twigs and Teake, is a short musical film that occupies an elastic space between narrative filmmaking and performance art.

“Everything I’ve previously done with my body, all the training and dancing, has led to this point,” said twigs in a recent press release.

Much like the album MAGDALENE from which the film is born from, the overall experience is exploratory above all else.

This surreal yet grounded film is a visual explosion that explores pain, grief, and love.

Live action wire stunts and computer graphics animation blend the lyrical poeticism of FKA twig’s vocals with the haunting imagery created by Hiro Murai.
